Liveleak always had the news days before the media did. They also had censored news. You could see jihadi groups in Syria firing missiles shipped directly from the CIA. The last few years they went towards "funny video" content and away from the original intent. They had some of the worst commenters of anywhere I ever saw on the internet. Still, sad to see them go.

Fortunately I learned not to click on the comments and just share the videos. Most users of every site don't read the comments, and most who read the comments never post.
I’ve found that to be the case too. You get a better sense of the user base by looking at the content that gets the most views/likes.
