He's a bit of a jerk sometimes and he's a multimillionaire with a private helicopter etc. He's also said iirc that if there weren't so many nasty things going on he would complain about PC but that he can't do that because there is more significant things which can be taken a few different ways. Regardless he is pretty based for a rich rockstar boomer.

He called Thatcher a "fucked up old hag" in one of the best selling albums of the 70s. He seems like a guy who is pretty good at seeing problems, but can't find solutions. The Wall shows him thinking about a whole bunch of problems in Britain, both in the late 70s and when he was a kid, but he doesn't have much to say other than 'man, isn't this fucked up?'
when he performed in Brazil during the election Bolsonaro won he stopped his show to shit on Bolsonaro, much to the dismay of the boomer rock fans in attendance.

He can be wrong from time to time and he thinks his shit smells like potpourri, but for a mega rich motherfucker he has a tendency to hit the mark on the reg. Sure he dunked on Trump but he's actively denounced Obama/Bush and their never ending wars and imperialism when it wasn't popular to do so. I wouldn't want to hang out with him, but he's right. A lot.
In context, if a shitlib only dunks on Trump that's intellectual laziness. Waters isn't a McResistance type of guy. I appreciate that about him.
