Hindutva fascists have a long history of trying to align themselves with anyone who'd oppose Muslims. They didn't fight against the British for India's freedom cause they believed the real enemy were the Muslims. In WW II they sided with Hitler and the Japanese. They pretended they have a connection to the "Aryan" race. Now, Israel is the newest obsession especially because of Modi's relationship with Netanyahu.

This of course hides the fact that there has been a very real, very deep connection between Judaism and the Indian subcontinent. See here.
