    Lenin

Lenin walks around the world. Frontiers cannot bar him. Neither barracks nor barricades impede. Nor does barbed wire scar him.

Lenin walks around the world. Black, brown, and white receive him. Language is no barrier. The strangest tongues believe him.

Lenin walks around the world. The sun sets like a scar. Between the darkness and the dawn There rises a red star.

    Lenin By Langston Hughes

I watched a documentary about body image, and realized that 12% body fat wasn't worth how tired I was. I've decided to maintain at 14% and start bulking again in a couple of weeks. After all, the point isn't to look good, it's to be good at combat sports and by extension defending my community.

Just about to wrap up 5/3/1 BBB, gonna run a single cycle of super squats (and super bench) with 531 FSL for OHP and Deadlifts before jumping into the /r/gainit 6 month program

Got a linky? I struggle a bit with my body image, and even though Im technically within the norms, I always think I have to loose more chub.

No link, it was for class. It was about the idea that capitalism encourages people to see their bodies as commodities they're in charge of shaping through commodity consumption (of gyms, supplements, fitness classes, cosmetic surgery) and as something that always needs to be improved, even as bodies naturally move away from the norm through aging.

They places the idea of the body project as a neoliberal development, and contraste it to the welfare capitalist model of the body as an exploitable resource.

I think it missed a lot of details, like how that's only really true for moderns, and not colonials, and how its both consumption and reproductive labor going into bodies, but it got me thinking.

Hmm, that is interesting, because taking care of your body is definitely something, that a lot of emphasis was placed on in former Soviet countries, and sports and fitness activities were widely promoted. There is a definite public health benefit from a population that is active. The big problem with capitalism IMO is both the commodification of this health, and creating the conditions where, you are often really pressed by time so you cannot really dedicate more to your health and fitness... because you have to slave for your boss.

Was pretty hungover until just now, but was able to get in 3/3 gym days like I wanted next week.

Shooting for 4.5/4.5 next week plus to online mat pilates deals we'll see how it goes.

I was super hungover yesterday, and with the lockdown there were way too many times this has happened, so now Im trying to greatly reduce drinks.

Wrist is finally healed from the sprain and upper body is returning too. Glad that it isn’t taking longer to get back to form

Been doing a lot of outdoor work the past few weeks instead of lifting weights. Looked in the mirror a couple days ago and I'm definitely putting on muscle.

Kinda a bummer that functional muscle doesn't look like shredded gym muscle but it's awesome to be getting stronger while getting real work done.

Feeling ripped. Managing to work out 6 days a week. Life's good. Bought a medieval broadsword and had fun swingin it.
