      Ah that's it ty!

When I Google the phrase, it comes up as "1948 Palestinian exodus", what a quaint name.

Yeah exodus is very passive voice, can't believe hundreds of thousands of people decided to Just Leave o.o

“The native Americans agreed to leave because the colonists needed the land.”

Mine framed the natives as the aggressors. Just section after section of all the times the scary indigenous war bands killed innocent settler civilians and burned their houses, never mentioning that this was in the context of a fucking genocide carried out by the settlers against the natives.

I cant really remember how my schools taught me.

In this year, we learn some of the history of the native americans! Now we learn the history of American Setters! What happened to the Ind—Native Americans? Who knows! Now MANIFEST DESTINY! Oh here comes the big bad TRAIL OF TEARS, we spend a day on it while learning about Andrew Jackson, did you know his nickname came from a stick?

              American education is fucking weird.

My American history textbook was like this too! They had so many weird unnecessary folksy little details about presidents and stuff. The line about Taft's chronic diarrhea will haunt me til the end of my days.

                  W-what?

We learned about having to get a new bathtub for the white house.

Yeah they loved adding totally needless info. I'd say it was to pad the page count, but looking back there were a lot of events that they decided not to include 🤔

Did your textbooks basically stop at the 60s too?

“MLK assassinated, we landed on the moon, have a good summer everyone!”

I mean they could reasonably update them by high school. But I guess they're not gonna keep buying the new edition every year 🤔

Now I want to see what a modern history book says about things that were going on when I was in high school. Ooh, imagine what the chapters on Trump will be like. Or Corona.

It’ll talk more about the impeachments than anything else.

Corona will never be talked about properly
