We stopped last year, feels good ngl. We have a big dinner on Saturday to celebrate the start of the Christmas season.
I do not live in America and am not American, so I'm not entirely sure what it is other than being the Turkey eating holiday and an opportunity to tell your chud uncle that the revolution won't spare him
Sharpen my many blades and plot the downfall of the inveterate enslaverscum of the prime-evil dimension.
Feeble in muscle but cunning in mind and word, they tongue their ways into the pillars of society and subsist and consume the land and labour of others. I will strike them down from their pillarthrones.
i live too far away from people that would compel me to do it. for several years, i used to do a Friendsgiving with some people that were labor aristos and had a big place they opened up to all the far-from-home people in this little town with a chill but organized potluck (they handled the mains). mostly grad students and just dislocated people from wherever. that stopped during covid when the host couple moved across country.
ever since/the last few years, i do some kind of slow cooker b.s. so i can have bowls of hot food throughout the day while i fart around the house, maybe do some DIY or fiddle with decorative art. this year will probably be japanese curry rice and occasionally put some dumplings in the steamer while i work on some cozy touches for my diy remodeled kitchen dining cubby-space to make it have tokyo noodle bar vibes.
i try to have everything i need / might need at the house by wednesday so i don't leave the house on thursday or friday and be involved in retail. when i was younger, i used to work in a mall and similar places on those days and i distinctly remember the experiences as wringing out whatever childhood affection for the "start" of the christmas season remained.
...now here's Mariah Carey with "All I Want For Christmas Is You"
My partner and I stopped holiday traveling several years ago and it's been great. We don't really do anything in particular. Maybe just a bit lazier of a day than a typical Saturday for us.
I'm English so I sit weeping under the table in the dark, as is tradition.
My family has finally disintegrated so thanksgiving is off this year. I got the word a few hours ago that it's officially not happening. Not sure what I'll do instead yet but I'm honestly relieved, the past few were rough to say the least lmao
Quiet dinner with the wife. Usually cook something nontraditional. Doing salmon this year
I'm gonna hang out with my pup and watch movies, play games online, read, assemble Gundams, and who knows what else.
I am missing Thanksgiving for the first time ever because I'm still not out to my family and I'm just not ready to go there and get gendered wrong for a week. Taking ideas
Oh I already successfully did this - I am missing. Ideas for Thanksgiving ig I could burn a flag.
Lol also I did try and use covid as an excuse and my parents argued with me that actually I should just fly with a mask on
Ah i see
Read a whole book, or movie marathon. Thanksgiving is really chill when you aren’t celebrating since everyone else is and everything is closed
Ya. So I got invited to a friend's Thanksgiving dinner and I have some food to bring. So I will go to that, plus their family doesn't know me so I'm just gonna come as me as in, dressed as I feel comfy. So I'm looking forward to it
