When Vicky 2 was first released the economy and pop wants/needs were so messed up that midgame onward was just hordes of rebels with ancom flags constantly overwhelming every country :ancom-pat:

CK3 is an actual good game on release, the main flaw is it being too easy and lacking content. The UI in particular actualy feels like something of a modern GSG should be like, I mean it is realy good for PDX standards.

If this is the new pattern you can expect the game to be quite shallow but playable which to me is a victory when it comes to PDX.

They announced you can choose to play on the side of the revolutionaries if a revolution breaks out in your country. Time to accelerate towards communism by creating a capitalist hellscape

      Broke: Playing as European imperialists

      Woke: Playing as European revolutionaries

Bespoke: Playing as indigenous peoples modernizing their countries and burning Europe to the ground in self defense

Sadly, native Americans are now "Decentralized Nations" which won't be playable at launch.

That is, unless you can release the Yucatan Mayan Republic as Mexico like you could in Vicky 2.

SpaceX just hired my dick as a rocket to Mars. The Vic2 pops system should be a standard feature of every Paradox game.

The Stellaris pop system is not like the Victoria pop system at all, so I don't see how that game's performance is relevant.

Will be interesting to see how it goes, hopefully more CK3 than Imperator.

    Reddit post about features

You can have a Statist, command economy without being Communist. Communism itself, while it often goes hand-in-hand with a command economy, is now more directly related to distribution of wealth and political power. Communism is not when the government does things. The government doing more things doesn't make it more communister.

Looks like there will be better representation of communism so thats very cool

If a revolution happens, you can side with the rebels. So you can be super duper capitalist on purpose, make life hell for all the workers, then switch sides when the socialists rise up. Neighboring conservative countries will be likely to step in and try to stop a socialist revolution.

This shit is gonna be so fun.

Yeah, but that and the inclusion of worker coops makes me wonder how they're gonna knee-cap them as it would be ahistorical if those systems overtook capitalism.
