Everyone went back to brunch once the IBEW—a union that represents ~5% of the industry and doesn't even represent the train crews whose rank-and-file were intent on striking—did a press release praising Biden for a measly 4 sick days (that were watered down from the 14 the unions were initially striking for or the 7 in the PEB-sponsored agreement) and didn't address the insane precision rail scheduling and draconian attendance policies imposed by the freight carriers, nor is the new policy universal across all unions. It infuriates me to no end that the gaslighting operation was once again successful, just like with Covid/Covid checks and the infrastructure bill switcharoo.
