If someone dmd him a link he's probably start lurking at least lol
I fail to see how the socko song clip can be interpreted in any way other than Bo is a communist already. Not a radlib but a full blown communist. The things he says in that one clip are things that can only come from someone who understands more theory than the typical radlib breadtubers.
Like, honestly yeah. I was blown away by the particular terminology he chose to use, in particular that it was actually Marxist in some sense and not radlib or Dem soc shit.
He also has that song that basically ends with a summary of Society of the Spectacle.
Holy shit yeah, he sings the song about Jeff Bezos and then cuts to a rant about the spectacle being a garbage exchange of value. :based-department:
That rant is actually a very well written synopsis of the post modern capitalist control methods. Decentralized and individualized to the point that we yearn for our cells.
Even before Socko comes out the lyrics quote Marx, right at the end of Bo's first verse: "...and every single cricket every fish in the sea/ Gives what they can/ And gets what they need"
Ironically, clips of it are being pulled down like crazy for copyright infringement.
It's not ironic that an anti-capitalist bit with its main point being you can say anti-capitalist stuff but not act on it or get crushed, produced by a multibillion-dollar corporation is taking down from youtube by the same said multibillion-dollar corporation because it violates their copyright and hurts their profits? I think there is a little irony there.
I think it's possible that he's just a radlib, or maybe a demsoc. One of the main themes of his special was a cynical examination of how the internet influences people's beliefs. This is most obvious in Welcome To The Internet where he says lines like "Obama sent the immigrants to vaccinate your kids". Granted this song is more straightforward satire, but every song has some elements of satire, so I'm not exactly sure how sincerely Socko repressed his political beliefs.
Whether or not Socko represents his political beliefs the act of being able to convey those beliefs coherently in a way that is not at all a caricature shows he fully understands them.
I find it difficult to believe a person that does not fully understand our ideas and the marxist analysis of world conditions would not also themselves become a marxist. Demsoc maybe, but marxist nonetheless. MLs themselves are well known to take on demsoc methods in various conditions.
