I live in the middle of trump country and even I could find good anti-capitalist leftist friends. We may not all be the same kind of left but I can speak my mind around them and don't have to hide who I am. Like if you have to hide who you are then you objectively don't belong in that group and they don't love or appreciate you for you. Why would anybody put themselves through that? I say this as somebody who spent 6 years of my life cripplingly alone (lemme know if that's a bad term) and then a few years with some really unsupportive people. I would have rather been alone. Unsupportive friends can do more damage to your self-image than you think. I'm still working through some of my past hangups caused by them. Some of you need to recognize that you deserve better.
