Personally I found it too silly to be scary at all, especially when it catches you and goes "Mmm yummy" it's so cringy and dumb that I couldn't stop laughing for like half a minute.
This is how I feel about almost every horror game. Silent Hill 2? More like Lol Lmao 2.
Nope nope nope. I'm twitchy enough playing horror-adjacent games with the occasional jump scares -- Soma, original Bioshock/Bioshock 2, and right now I'm playing Bloodborne for the first time.
Even the general gloom of Fallout 3 eventually got to me eventually -- I normally wouldn't call it horror, and the tone mostly keeps it light, but on the other hand by the end of the game you have literally ran across thousands of dead bodies and skeletons just laying around for the sake of environmental atmosphere.
First moment in a video game in like five years or more where I shrieked like a little kid
I don't really have any problems with the combat heavy sections of the game. It's just they take away your weapons and your forces to dodge this giant creature in the dark. I mean I can extrapolate it to, don't get caught, move until to get to the safe point, but everything about it turbo spooked me.
should I go back to this game? I dont know what happened, I just stopped playing it mid castle
It's neat. It goes through a bunch of horror genres, kind of.
Some light Lovecraft, you're in the middle of the "vampire" area, there's spooky dolls etc.
I absolute loved it. It was my first RE game and I liked it so much I went back and beat all the rest lol. Just need to finish 5 and then 6
