I think I'd go for some kind of science officer. I'm watching a scene right now where one is melting stuff and then holding the fumes under glass for whatever reason. Seems up my alley

Some counseling gig. I've worked in mental health and Starfleet would let me help in ways that aren't just bandaging damage caused by capitalism.
Instead damage caused by spending 25 years in prison in a half hour or getting your brain taken over by aliens every month
But it's not capitalism.
I'll give you that.
