So, this isn't gonna have a link because it happened to me in real life earlier today, but I have got to dunk on this chud somewhere because I can't really do it here.

So, since Indy Pride is doing a virtual thing again this year, there have been a bunch of local pride events in various smaller towns and counties in the area. I went to our local [redacted] county pride picnic today. It was a lot more crowded than I expected, which I thought was awesome.

Now, my family and I used to attend a semi-local UU church, but stopped because of the drive and lack of time. They were one of the big sponsors of the event. Because of this, there were quite a few people there I knew, including one lesbian police officer (LPO). I ended up in a conversation with her and her partner.

Me: I love all these local prides. Instead of Indy Pride Sponsored By SALEFORGE, we have local pride sponsored by those of us who showed up.

LPO: I wouldn't go to Indy Pride anyway. They seriously pissed me off.

Me: Oh? What did they do to you?

LPO: They banned the police from marching in uniform! I mean, we were the ones brave enough to be out and proud in the police departments and we can't even go to pride???

Me: Well, I mean, I can understand it. There are a lot of people at pride who don't really like cops much. Having uniformed cops triggers a lot of people, but then some cops suffer. It kinda sucks, but I can definitely respect why they made that decision. (note: I'm trying to play nice because I do know this woman, and I don't really want to go over the top :acab: at a nice, peaceful, local pride event)

LPO: But all cops are being punished for the actions of some bad actors! It isn't fair.

Me: Well, until the "some" cops get punished, then all of them are gonna get punished.

LPO: They ARE being punished!

Me: :brow:

LPO: They ARE!

Me: :blocky-wat:

LPO: You watch the news too much. Yeah, you do.

And that was the end of that cuz I wandered off to find someone else to talk to...I had so many things I wanted to say, but like I said, local, small, peaceful pride event. Still, first time I've been told I watch the news too much....as opposed to her getting her information from the Slave Catcher's Union, I suppose...?
