Florida is a common tax haven for rich assholes. Like Montana and Delaware. Rich assholes register cars and businesses in other states to circumvent state taxes in Ca.

It's not a literal tax haven like Delaware, but it is cheap and easy to register cars (especially weird/exotic/illegal cars) in Montana. They also have no state sales tax. So it's not uncommon for a rich asshole to buy and register an expensive exotic car in Montana, and then just drive it in California indefinitely.

They also have pretty lax laws for vehicle inspections, and registrations. So it's pretty easy to get an illegal car registered in Montana. By illegal I mean it doesn't conform to US DOT laws for safety and emissions.

I have a friend that buys and sells rare cars, and he brags about doing this all the time.
