Tib Sun was the peak of the whole franchise and it was pretty balanced competitively too.
Then they fucked it up with the Firestorm expansion.
There's actually an open source project to bring it up to date for modern systems(with much bigger resolutions) but I played it pretty recently and it's still full of problems.
The OpenRA team has been working on a Tiberian Sun module to add to their collection of Dune, Red Alert and C&C. The progress is...slow. Here's some footage from 6 years ago
