    Is it bad? Tynan is one of those guys who is in a prime position to exist in that techbro libertarian space and I know lots of people were :cringe: about "royalty". I do love me some vanilla Rimworld though

      i think the problem with royalty is that it costs a lot to add someone modders could easily add for free. if it was way cheaper or free it'd be a nice little bit of extra content. ideology will probably be the same: neat mechanics and content that a modder could add for free, if stuff like this doesn't already exist

        Makes sense. Back when I was in deep, there were some pretty remarkable mods shared with the community. One that stood out -- A guy actually created one that would take a snapshot of your base when you got wiped out, and put it into a pool for other users of the mod, and it created rubble and ruins from real bases that would show up in other people's games. Outstanding.

          I just want to build a decent sized town with some automation and not have to rely on killboxes or choke points. The mod list/community looks really intimidating

      idk seems pretty reasonable to me that in a complete breakdown of industrial society people would return to preindustrial forms of government
