The Israeli dude at least gets a house for the price of his soul. The US is cutting it's losses by leaving, why would they be afraid if China wants a turn in the graveyard of empires?

Editing to make your post look pedantic. Also going to preempt the history nerds and emphasize that it's poetic license not an analysis of the historical decline of empires.

why would they be afraid if China wants a turn in the graveyard of empires?

Occupation of Eastern Afghanistan was supposed to provide a staging ground into Western China and the underbelly of the old Soviet states. Americans getting squeezed out means Those Damned Foreigners will continue to dominate mainland Asia for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, the Chinese are threatening to do something no occupying military has ever really tried in Afghanistan. Enriching it. Heaven help the Evil Imperialist that tries to build an international workers coalition with its neighbors. That'll completely fuck shit up for neoliberal capitalism in the region.
