latina (cuban?? am I racist for being unsure....) mommy
I'm from Texas. This is too accurate. Everyone here is a poseur (I'm sure I am too). I have Family from the Northern part of Florida, so while different, it is still insane. When I went to the beach by Peninsula, every house had Trump flags flying. Any hurricane would wipe those houses out instantly.
I'm in the panhandle and there is this bizarre disconnect where these people just love their "rugged individualism" but then Sunday rolls around and they are all about church unity and outreach, but in a superficial sort of way. I hate how many people here are fake nice and fake smiles.
"I'm not from Texas but I got here as soon as I could", I'm gonna go puke now.
And don't get me started on all the fucking lifted trucks that never make it outside city limits...
I've heard the phrase about Florida that the more north you go, the more south it gets. Every time I've been to the FL panhandle I get the vibe that it is like rural Texas, but worse.
WOKESTAR games makes WOMAN OF COLOR protagonist
they nailed contemporary florida btw; the energy is very correct
The energy feels very much like every American stereotype I've seen or heard about, as a non American.
Florida is the Trump of America. Basically unfiltered and decadent
Texas is the John Wayne / Chuck Norris of America. Basically an idealized version of individualism and frontier but in reality it’s just an act
Christ, this is accurate af.

Ha, I meant I'm in the Texas panhandle. But dully noted because rural Texas is fucking shit.
Florida is just everything wrong the rest of Amerikkka on steroids, and no snow or basements
It does until you actually go to Florida. That place is a living stereotype.
