Edit: I was wondering why the fuck it was so awkward, then it made me realize they remind me of people I know IRL. They’re obsessed with memes and especially “dark humor” to the point of frequently referencing them IRL and showing each other memes on their phones.

freshman year of college I met a guy who was a moderately famous character on 4chan who spoke almost exclusively by referencing memes with apparently no shame or irony and it was the first time I had ever met someone like that. profoundly distressing experience.
