Hello ladies, good evening my enbies! Hows it going? Anything youd like to share? Vent? You know how it goes ...

I was involved in a couple of conversations recently, so Im wondeing - when you go to a martial arts or sports club, what are the signs youre looking for that its friendly towards women, enby people, LGBT people and the like? And what makes you stay in one? We have very few girls in my martial arts club, and as our summer holiday is winding down I am starting to think what we can do to attract a more diverse crowd ...

pic unrelated: I really want to go for a swim. Havent been to the beach in ages.

For me, usually first step is seeing if there are any women, enby, and/or queer people who work there as a coach/instructor/etc. otherwise I'll creep through Yelp/etc comments and see if there are other women and/or queer people sharing their experience with the place and if so are there any overwhelmingly negative ones. Honestly having a Pride flag displayed is a good sign, bc worst case it's pandering/liberalism/lip service and not like out-and-out homophobia so it's unlikely that I'm gonna be hate crimed or something
