Better than in Civ 5. "Fascism" policy gives you +12 happiness in your empire and is easy to achieve, whereas "Communism" is a mostly useless policy that takes a lot more effort to get to, and when you do get there, other options are better

Isn't communism in civ 5 just the order ideology? I thought that gave a shitton of happiness, more than autocracy (fascism) unless you build more military buildings than you realistically need

That’s the case in BNW, but in the vanilla game it’s just a policy tree. From my experience, order is easily the best ideology in the game unless you need to do a military expansion from a small country (autocracy) or plan on having a small peaceful country (freedom), but it’s tough winning on high difficulties without going for science or domination where order excels.

Yeah communism, or the order tree as they call it for some reason, in BNW is absolutely amazing. Usually at that point in the game my civilization is getting too big and spreading happiness way too thin, then I unlock order and instantly gain anywhere from 30 to 50 happiness and I don't need to worry about it for a couple eras.

Yes, basically, but Communism is also a policy you can pick in Order tier 3, or maybe that's just in the multiplayer mod I play with and have forgotten the base game policies

It looks like in regular Civ 5 BNW , communism is not a tenet of order, but "dictatorship of the proletariat is." It's not a bad one but it's bonus is a tourism one which is kinda strange, like they probably just took a bunch of communism flash cards and gave them bonuses at random.

You need at least 10 cities to make it super strong. Minimum 8.
