It's the same strategy every other capitalist country also has, there are some outliers but most are doing the same thing. Differences only lie in how vulnerable people were, how many hospitals and doctors per person there were. How many commorbidities each person has on average or whether they can afford a sick day or two in order to make sure they're not arriving contagious at work, but locking down until too late is a constant. The only thing capitalism can do is damage control, it's always doing damage control.
