I won't support mandatory vaccinations. Ever. I really can't in good conscience. Not to mention with current market incentives of big pharma. Also, not to mention that I don't trust my capitalist government to do this right. I'm huge on consent and autonomy over my body, sorry.
That's why I took the vax. I still don't want the government to force people to take things into their body and by extension tightly control movement and access to public spaces. And where I live, over 80% did or does take it. We don't all live in the US-lacking decent education-of A. I never said this isn't a huge dilemma.
And with how a certain fascist regime in 1940 took over and readily used our magnificent bureaucratic machine to very efficiently subjugate and send thousands of men, women and children to their deaths make me kind of weary of these kinds of powers (referring to the infrastructure they are putting in place right now to track vaccinations and control access to public establishments). My country has not one, but two very popular proto-fascist parties in the wings. Even the current government coalition is up to their neck in fraud and has some extremely ghoulish neoliberal practices that hurt a lot of poor families. I don't trust them with this power.
I fucking hate this virus exists, and we should do our part to protect the vulnerable. Like forcing big pharma to give up their patents, so generic vaccines can be created, for example. What about, making sinovac and Sputnik V vaccine accepted and available in the EU. Currently, they aren't accepted for their new 'covidpassport'.
They very successfully shifted the failure and blame of ghoulish capitalism onto people like me, who would like to keep their bodily autonomy and don't want their proto-fascist governments to have complete control over them. They are responsible.
They're dancing around it. Nothing is certain, nobody is doing decisive action. They're all just fucking passing the responsibility to each other. Measures are enacted and detracted willy nilly. It's a complete shitshow here. But if france is anything to go by, they might do it. Depending on how much buildings survive the protests. Then again, coercing is not the much better than forcing.
