Shopping around for refuge countries, and I'm trying to figure out what living in Ireland is actually like. I'm liking the sound of living in a country with a Marxist-Leninist paramilitary group, but I don't want to actually just be tricked by an "American Dream" but for leftists.
spoiler
To be clear, I'm not trying to join the IRA, but I do want to know if Ireland is a better alternative to staying in the US. World is a fuck.
You can't go to Ireland for a while mate, you kind of all have the plague
Yeah, I'm not doing any moving for at least the next year or so, international or otherwise. This is exploration into long term plans, since I don't want to be here during the inevitable collapse of the American empire
I'll placeholder a serious answer until an actual Irish turns up
Healthcare isn't like the NHS in the UK, but is way way way way cheaper than in the us
Only really spent time in a village outside of Cork, and highly doubt it's universal, but:
life seems a bit more laid back in general
Booze is cheaper than most of the uk
A lot of catholics
Not as much hate for the english as I expected
Old people talk a lot
Punctuality seems to be a foreign concept
