Growing up I never fit in with masculine culture because I wasn't good at sports and didn't like many of the other things boys like. I thought maybe there's something wrong with me. Why can't I just throw a ball right?

Then I got through puberty and became more self-aware. It dawned on me that it's not a flaw, it's just that I'm a large bug that lives on the sea floor. It's okay that I don't like cars because they don't function underwater. Male bonding rituals and competition don't make sense to me because they aren't over things that matter to me, like decaying whale corpses. Now I know I'm a giant isopod and I only really befriend other men if they're comfortable enough to be giant isopods too.

isopods: proven evolutionary staying power, incredibly lindy, will live on for another billion years

humanoid males: (such a transient and brief moment in history its like God breathed in and accidentally inhaled a bit of dust)
