So yesterday or the day before idk I stole a meme from Twitter that I thought was cool because it talked about giving guns to natives to defend themselves from settlers, and posted it here. The thing I had completely ignored was that the first upper half of the meme was basically: "girls with atime machine: [do something boring like visiting their relatives because they're girls]". I obviously should have known better than just post this meme, as it brought up gender in a totally unnecessary and misogynistic way. I realize now that calling it out does not make up for posting it in the first place, hence why I would like to apologize for making people feel unsafe on this platform. I get that life can get really extra shitty when you're not a man and such kind of stupid memes really don't help. Making women, or any part of this community feel uncomfortable on this website was never my intention but I guess as a man, which means the attack wasn't directed at me specifically, I was just able to ignore the sexist part of the meme.

I sure as fuck should have known better and I'm sorry. As of right now I've deleted the post and the best I can do is prolly promise I won't reiterate that bullshit again. I know it's certainly not my place to lecture people but if you're a man and you see that kind of shit being posted please downvote it; the reason I'm saying this is, the person who posted the comment that led me to take down the post and apologize said they were mad at me, but even more so at the people who upvoted it, even tho the responsibility falls on me first, of course. I think saying this is the very least I can do to undo the wrongs I did.
