I hated the Divine Beasts, they're all the same puzzle gimmick and it's one I happen to fucking suck at. I just used a guide to get through them as quick as possible. Shrines for pretty underwhelming once you get stamina maxed and can't get one hit by anything since you can just eat to heal any time. Hopefully the next one tightens things up, and adds real dungeons. It was their first go at an open world game and I think they nailed it for the most part and can forgive the shortcomings easier as long as they fix that shit in the next one. But it's Nintendo, so I'm not sure they'll learn or have even listened to any criticisms at all

Yeah, a lot of shrine puzzles were a joke and then some were absolutely esoteric. I liked all the cool open ended physics stuff for general exploration but not so mu h with puzzles. Led to me having to figure out what the puzzle even was before trying to solve it.

I'm not big on Dark Souls, but a big thing BOTW needs to do is not make clicking the right stick turn on your binoculars. I click it so much by accident when trying to move the camera and fight at the same time, go into dirt person, get walloped and have to repeat the process to try to fight crowds.

I feel like BOTW2 should really just be a new map and fixing all the little bullshit things with BOTW like balancing durability and weapons management a bit better, nerfing cooking and shit like that along with some more traditional dungeons. The first game was clearly a bit of an experiment, just fix that stuff and it's fine. My prediction is Nintendo will do one of these things and introduce a while slew of new weird experimental shit cause they're Nintendo and they can't just make an improvement on something they have to go fucking sideways
