One of my wife's friends asked what it was like living in [city]. We basically said it is expensive (it is) but otherwise nice. They then asked if we had any problems with the homeless. I just responded that the city doesn't do enough to help. They actually do a decent amount compared to most cities, because it gets cold in the winter and they don't want the optics of people freezing to death, but still more etc.
I just don't see how people look at homeless people and feel hatred, and not compassion
