There's no way this doesn't throw off not only the pacing of every scene but change the soundtrack enough that it changes the mood of every scene. Just like enjoy things and stop obsessing with getting through stuff as quickly as possible?

This genuinely says a lot about society.

Tons of modern shows and movies feel like they were sped up to 125% speed in post production, and it drives me fucking crazy. You can't just have an unending barrage of shit coming at the viewer, scenes need to step back and breathe, moods need to be established, a small character-building moment can add a lot more than another plot twist getting thrown onto the pile.

I couldn't imagine watching anything sped up except maybe a lecture.

Yeah, I feel like we're in a really bleak era for TV and movies. I think Felix or Matt said that essentially all movies and TV feel like they are a collection of gifable moments meant to be shared on social media, which I think is accurate.

I prefer dense shows, my ADHD brain gets bored when there's something I already understand getting needlessly drawn out.
