contemporary u.s military light infantry doctrine primarily focuses on coordinated movement of unit elements to maintain numerical and firepower superiority in order to suppress the enemies through an overwhelming base of firepower with a flanking force maneuvering to assault enemy positions in order to eliminate them. That's assuming that the infantry unit does not have access to artillery/air/naval support
