It sounds like a lot of it comes from weather being a factor and less taxes. At least that's usually what I hear. I don't really understand why Anyone would move south and especially Southwest with climate change ravaging things, but people have a lot of copium that everything will be okay
I came down with my family when Exxon moved its HQ from NY/NJ to Houston. And I've been here ever since. If you can tell me a better state to live in, I'd love to hear it. But the entire west coast is on fire right now, the DC Metro Area is wildly outside my price range, the Midwest is deindustrialized, New York is run by rapists, and Florida remains Florida.

I'm still struggling to learn Mandarin in anticipation of the great exodus. But until that happens, I'm kinda stuck.
I do not understand why people are flooding this state in droves
No income tax! Jobs!
Cheap housing!:bern-disgust:
Also we made it illegal for homeless people to sleep outside
Padmé smiling - So that they have to be provided housing indoors right!
Padmé doubt - So that they have to be provided housing indoors right???
In a just world, if sleeping were still illegal (obviously it shouldn't):
"Wake up comrade, it is illegal to sleep outside. We're taking you downtown! To a furnished apartment that is yours to live in for free!"
2 of my friends have moved to Texas in the last year and i straight up dont get it.
lol i would simply off myself before moving to fuckin texas, and thats not even a hard decision
I don't understand why Californians of all political alignments love Austin so much.
Because Austin is a cool city. And cheaper than coastal California.
Won't be cool when it's as expensive as California.
It's the only state offering even-conceivably-affordable housing within an hour's drive of any jobs.
That and people get swept over by the lack of an income tax, until the day their privatized utilities decide to kill them for money.

Phoenix is literally growing which is insane to me.
