I'm a rugged boy-man-sir, also I can't wear a tiny piece of cloth because unlike a nurse half my size wearing it all day I'll suffocate within minutes. Prepping for the apocalypse, probably own gas masks that do make it difficult to breathe, but I'm fucking terrified of a face mask.

I was just thinking about how if the US wanted to they could have used mass media to push that narrative. Like literally say the only reason not to wear a mask is because you're weak, not strong enough to wear one. I think it would have totally worked. Fuck I think it could still work if they really committed to it

Like let me go on television for five minutes and emasculate libertarians. Full toxic masculinity, soggy biscuit-tier hazing. Make them feel like slug people whose only other option is eating salt. Sit physicists from CERN down and ask how it's possible on a quantum level for someone to be such a sister-fucking dirt eater that they can't read a wikipedia article about vaccines.

They're just large toddlers so desperately insecure that they'll burn the world down to avoid understanding or confronting it. Bully the cowards into submission or seclusion.

Yeah exactly this. They are so susceptible to bullying and that's why if the mass media just pushed that people who don't wear mask and get vaxxed are weak babies it would totally work. Just gotta make them think that if they don wear a mask then everyone else sees them as weak

yeah i was thinking about this last night too, regarding vaccines. give up on the annoying liberal hand wringing over those terribly nasty chuds who just won't see reason. just start calling them wimps and losers. you're too scared to get a little jab in the arm like your big tough 45th president has? wow, you total coward, have you been eating a lot of soy lately? real american manly men fought and died in hails of bullet fire and you're terrified of a tiny needle! sad!

Reminds me of that George Carlin bit where people invent shelter to not freeze to death but find that food spoils faster inside, so they invent the fridge to keep their food cool inside of the warm shelter they invented. But the butter gets too hard in the fridge, so they invent the butter keeper which keeps the butter warmer inside of the box to keep food cooler inside of the shelter to keep themselves warmer.

A little compartment on the inside of the door of the refrigerator that itself has a small door and you put the butter in there and it doesn't get as cold as everything else.

as long as it doesn't get too hot where you live you can store butter at room temperature in a covered dish

In a just world, if sleeping were still illegal (obviously it shouldn't):

"Wake up comrade, it is illegal to sleep outside. We're taking you downtown! To a furnished apartment that is yours to live in for free!"

It's the only state offering even-conceivably-affordable housing within an hour's drive of any jobs.

That and people get swept over by the lack of an income tax, until the day their privatized utilities decide to kill them for money.

It sounds like a lot of it comes from weather being a factor and less taxes. At least that's usually what I hear. I don't really understand why Anyone would move south and especially Southwest with climate change ravaging things, but people have a lot of copium that everything will be okay

I came down with my family when Exxon moved its HQ from NY/NJ to Houston. And I've been here ever since. If you can tell me a better state to live in, I'd love to hear it. But the entire west coast is on fire right now, the DC Metro Area is wildly outside my price range, the Midwest is deindustrialized, New York is run by rapists, and Florida remains Florida.

I'm still struggling to learn Mandarin in anticipation of the great exodus. But until that happens, I'm kinda stuck.

Texas keeps saying they want to secede from the US. Turns out, it's the cities that want to secede from Texas.

Austin has joked about this for decades, now other cities are becoming more liberal so it's spreading across the state.
