Should India ever adopt communism I would think they would also see explosive growth and elimination of extreme poverty.
The fact that India, and Indonesia as well, with their massive populations and resources, and historically strong communist movements, didn't topple their bourgeois dictatorship is one of the true black marks in the history of communism- of course totally to blame for that is the UK and USA. Had they joined the rest of the "2nd world" or led the socialist movement within the 3rd, we'd be looking at a much better planet right now. And it was not at all impossible that it could have happened without western treachery. And yeah, the amount of people living in poverty globally would be drastically lower, not to mention a weaker west and more empowered and independent global south. This is largely not the fault of the communists in those countries, I want to stress. sigh, just another historic contingency of earth-saving proportions lost to capitalism and western fuckery
nah let's just stoke sectarian tensions for short term political gain what could go wrong?? surely this will lead to a prosperous and well-functioning society
