It was basically

Celebrity: "hi I'm famous celebrity that got famous due to commercials, can I tell you about Company's deals?"

Person: "oh who are you sorry I don't watch ads I stream my music and TV"

Celebrity: "oh that's okay I just want to tell you about the savings"

Person: "wait am i in a commercial right now, advertisements are exploitative in blah blah bl-"

Celebrity interrupting: "well okay then remember guys check out company name for Great deals and savings"

Absolute fucking hell world like who is this even supposed to appeal to is it supposed to be like some thing for people who are like "hahaha stupid libs thinking ads are bad" I don't understand the point

By being cognizant to its own nature of being a commercial, it hopes to create enough of a humorous counter culture self-awareness to appear authentic and honest, even though it's clearly a commercial.

Which appeals to typical libs who think by watching The Daily Show they are intellectually leaps and bounds ahead of their backwoods republican rivals.
