Why are dozens of US students getting their medical degree in Cuba? 🇨🇺
What are they learning that they wouldn't be in the US?
We asked these questions and more to four US medical students currently studying at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) in Havana through IFCO/Pastors for Peace's ELAM Scholarship Program.
Here's what they had to say.

I chose my primary doctor, who is a White woman, purely because I noticed she was the only doctor available for me to choose who not only not studied at Medical School in the US, but was from here and left the US to study Medicine abroad only to come back to work here. I mentioned it to her at our first consult, and she said she actually didn't even care about the country where she received her degree in particular but only went abroad because that allowed her to study Medicine in Cuba without issues because she considered their schools the best.
I knew then I would never let her go. She approves me smoking Cuban cigars too.
