I think him buying a house outside of LA and traveling to it every weekend while also renting a tiny apartment in LA would probably be LESS ecologically sustainable than him just getting a place in LA.
Idk how decadent the place he got is, LA is expensive but I imagine even there 2.5 mil house is pretty swanky. You are maybe right he could have just gotten a cozy bungalow for like 750k and to keep his lefty cred.
