If Rurouni Kenshin could get a remake, I guess One Piece deserves it so much more.

Although, like, are they gonna run the Toei series at the same time as this Studio Wit series? That'll be kinda unprecedented- even though we do know One Piece is ending soon because Oda said so, I don't think it'll end that soon.

LETS GOO!!! A well paced consistently high quality season by season approach to one piece would be amazing. Toei animation slop is the definitive worst way to enjoy one piece.

I'm wondering if they are going to revamp certain plot details like the live action.

my biggest fear is that they might actually change the feeling. as bad as toei's version is and as hated the original artstyle is, it really fits the begining of the series when everything was way simpler than it is now. it would have been better if they adopted one pace and made it official with some redraws here and there, but it was obviously not happening.

as much as i love one piece, having a new adaptation bringing nothing new is a waste of effort

One of my close homies is a gigantic fan and he tried to put me into the original series with the appeal sold to me as "the world building is phenomenal." He is absolutely correct, but I have ADHD and can't sit through over 500 episodes, so I'm really excited to check this version out when it drops.

ugh. there's like a million reasons i'm just not really enthused about this. it might be good! but like, come on. make something new please, one piece anime already exists. animate something original, or a manga that's never been done! no need for more one piece, there's already so much one piece in the world

I'm hyped because it's WIT making it so no regular Toei bloat like the main series. It's basically one piece Kai.

yeah except dragon ball kai was a re-edit of dragon ball, not a ground up remake. considering the state of the industry, the fact that oda is probably still at least another 5 years from finishing the manga, and the fact that the anime is also still ongoing i really wish they'd done something original. this is like if kai started in 1994, except worse because at least dragon ball never dragged its shit out as long as one piece. or if naruto kai started at the start of the great shinobi war

it's one piece, it'll almost certainly be good. but one piece already exists. if you want a good version of the east blue arc (which i'm sure is all this wit anime is going to cover before taking at least a year long break) read the manga! i don't need to see luffy fight arlong in modern sakuga
