It's not worth getting too carried away with this great man thing. The US response to Covid has been an absolute disaster from the municipal level all the way up through the counties, states and federal government. Trump and Biden are culpable insofar as they have barely lifted a finger, but I find the complete lack of any institutions to fill the void a lot more damning. We're really all on our own here.
