General consensus was among people in the city is that the Winston Smith shooting was justified based on the claims of the Hennepin County Sheriff (whom I personally don't trust), and the BCA. In general, I think that Minneapolitan opinion turned against protests in general after the shooting at George Floyd Square on the 1 year anniversary of Floyd's murder, some people also are concerned about gang members running security of the square (though that claim is disputed). I think that people are just tired of everything that's been going on in the city.
