My wife and I are staying with straight family rn and that's weird and funny in the sense that it's made it really obvious that I haven't lived with cishets in ten years and it's really highlighting some cultural differences lol.

Watching a tv show that features a slow burn het couple that's one of the few in all of network television that deserves rights, and when they have certain tender or intimate moments i reflexively go "gayyyy" or try to explain what I mean by i like their dynamic "because of the lesbians of it all" or whatever. Then trying to translate or explain what I mean, which is like... how do I explain to you how to read queer coded characters when you've never needed that skill so can't pick up on that subtext, and then how to apply it to a m/f couple???? Like I'm sorry yes I know they're straight but also that's lesbians
