I fucking hate how America conflates wealth with success and virtue. Truly a morally depraved country.

Literally just flattery for the owning class that bears no resemblance to reality.

...yeah... I wish people in the US would actually believe in systemic issues instead of just pretending they do when they're called out on it or want to seem educated. Like, class mobility is actually something sociologists and economists and shit measure, and consistently it is very low in the US.

I have a family member who was like that. Worked literally all the time, listened to sales training / self-help audiobooks on his commute, constantly "on his grind." Didn't make a difference; he lost like $500 on a bad investment and he had to go on food stamps a few years ago.

He's getting ready to buy a second house now. The difference? His multi-millionaire uncle gave him a busywork $100k salary job

If you miss a single debt payment everyone that looks at your credit score is absolutely going to hold a grudge instead of forgiving you.

The average millionaire is a 60-something who owned a small business or had some well-paid job and saved money. I'm sure that kind of person never "thinks they know it all". They definitely don't watch TV daily and constantly talk about people either in the shop or on Facebook lmfao.
