Pretty sure we haven't used f22s for shit the majority of the time we've had them. I usually just see them flying around burning taxdollars to do cool tricks

I always saw them do that around Japan, apparently with the flight capabilities restricted so that they couldn't be deduced by all the people watching from the beach. I'm not sure what their actual value would be in a modern war, especially against an enemy whose entire coast is lined with missile batteries pointed at the airfields, but it's the capable modern fighter. F-35s are being hit by new issues in their hyper-delicate supply chains so we'd otherwise be stuck with F-18s from the 1990s.

Well the f22's radar profile was supposed to be its strong suite where when you detach the little radar ping ball on them they're supposed to be undetectable.

As an Air superiority plane they boast better maneuvering and sensors than the more common previous gen so they would be a decent craft for keeping enemy Air superiority planes out of their area of operation and a decent interceptor craft for yeeting multi-role or dedicated bomber planes.

The few times I saw them actually put on a show I was blown away with all the stupid shit you could make them do that would make an f-18 pilot green with envy like being able to have the entire f22 body completely vertical in the air and hover off the ground like a helicopter, or pull some of the tightest loops and turns that would pull all the blood from your brain to your feet.

They bombed Syria back when Russia had the SAMs there to test their stealth once. Otherwise they just do backflips at airshows and patrols of the airspace boarders

Yep, they also do interception missions up here whenever Russia sends over some planes to test our radar capabilities.
