I must have missed the announcement, but this has to be a large joke right? The amount of shit that will get people killed on here is just constantly being repeated, telling small women how to train to fight off multiple opponents with their fists, people recommending carrying tactical tomahawks, others suggesting to just keep beating people after they are unconscious.
Its like somebody just brought a voice recorder to a literal mall ninja shop and turned it into a text transcript for reddit.
I wanna know where these people think they're going to be attacked? I'd focus more on knowing the way out of a public place if a spree shooter showed up.
For the right-wing I think they have a dread fear and a great hatred of the others - anybody who is different enough who they wish didn't exist. They have a wish-desire to do violence to the others or even kill them.
As fucked up as America is - they can't openly share those thoughts of committing violence and murder in public. So they have to use euphemisms like - "What happens if a mugger attacks me?" but in their mind's eye there's no mugger. If they want to be more bold and direct they just come out and say it - "What happens if a Muslim attacks me?"
I remember first time I saw Zizek he was rambling about how Taxi Driver is the murican fantasy of violence that originates from a suicidal wish.
But yeah most are also fascists

They often have elaborate apocalypse scenarios too where they're shooting down attacking waves of looters all barreling down on their property. Those are the most deranged.

Are there any good examples of real life kinetic situations being broken up by these good guys with guns? My gut tells me they'd only make the situation worse by shooting the wrong person or just die instantly.
I remember at least one story about a good guy with a gun stopping a mass shooting and then getting killed by the police for having a weapon

Honestly, alot of times when I go to the convivence store late at night I get kind of paranoid when there is someone else around that they are gonna attack me or something.
Pretty much everyone else is just walking to the store or something to though, so it's not a real concern....but still.
