Washington is run by very old people - CNNPolitics

Looking forward to being in office at 95.

Sen. Charles Grassley, the Iowa Republican, [is] 88. He jogs in a new video announcing he'll run for an eighth 6-year Senate term and posted to his Twitter feed. [...] He was elected to his second Senate term in 1986, the year before the youngest current senator, Democrat Jon Ossoff of Georgia, was born. [...] Grassley would be 95 in 2029 when the term ends.

The very worst pieces of shit wake up every single morning wanting to fuck over as many people as they can. Why would they retire and stop having fun?

You know how opinionated certain older people can be. This is just the same thing, but on steroids.

If it makes you feel any better, I think a lot of it with folks like Grassley, Feinstein, RBG et al... is they as scared shitless of admitting they are old and will die soon. Stepping down is an admission that the end is coming soon. Admitting that would lead them to massively shitting their pants in fear, which at this point would probably be enough to kill them anyway.

I'm 100% sure of something. He's going to die in office. In 2029 if he's still alive and if doesn't shit himself in public on a regular basis and he's occasionally able to form complete sentences - he's going to run again. The fucker could be in the senate at 100.

Reporter: "Why did you change your name?"

Adolf "1488" Himmler: "To show my belief in the primacy of the white race."

Reporter: "Do you think that will help you electorally?"

Fun fact, Brezhnev was younger when he died than when Biden became president.

After three General Secretaries dying in a five year span, half the reason the CCCP picked Gorbachev was because he was young and thus unlikely to croak in five years.

Joe is older now than any Soviet General Secretary was when they died, save Gorby. Proof that Satan is real and hates communism.

Yeah but at least they had the excuse that practically the entire generation that should have been passed the torch to was killed during WWII.

Doesn't matter how old he is. When he leaves he'll be replaced by someone younger who believes the same things he believes and acts the same way he acts. Individual politicians do not matter at all

He isn't likely to last his whole term. More probable is that he retires midway through and has the governor give it to his grandson, who is the speaker of the Iowa House. But he will win reelection.

I also regret to report that he is not a poster like his grandfather.
