For those who doesn't know the story Elizabeth Holmes is a con artist who used her connections to the political and business elite (including Henry Kissinger) to trick investors into pouring billions of dollars into her company Theranos by claiming they had invented a new and revolutionary type of blood test. These claims were complete fabrication. The blood tests provided by the company were later found to be dangerous to patients.
Theranos was shut down in 2018. Holmes is currently on trial for wire fraud.
