She could be making concerned faces and talking about how difficult these decisions are and how concerned she is about spending or whatever but she's just acting like a child. Maybe in some fucked up monkeys paw way her past as an anarchist lets her realize the real powers in capital, so she’s racking up as many corporate good girl points to eventually leave office and join capital directly.
She used to run with anarchist crowd in AZ. But I don't know her past ideology leanings when reports came out that the stories about sleeping in a car with her mother were made up by herself so that she could appeal to left leaning people.
Being elected a senator is basically winning the lottery. You can do good things or you can become rich and create generational wealth. She's choosing to do the latter.
Most of the ones who do the latter do it with the goal of staying in power as long as possible, though. Maybe she can get a job lobbying or as a token exec, but for what purpose? She'll be unable to interface with GOP politcians because she's a dem, she'll have trouble with a lot of dems now (not necessary the DNC brass). I still think the smart play would be to do what she's doing politically while trying to seem sincere and concerned.
