      your negotiation for pay is probably in part the size of your audience, but also your cultivated audience's click through rate, conversion rate, and at some level someone cares that you're not actively shitting on them while they give you money.

        But the diligence the advertisers do is inversely correlated with how scammy they are. Sure, the legitimate advertisers might check all that stuff, but the raid shadow legendses and the square feet of scottish land lairdship sellers might not.
