Like the lack of multi-generational homes in the west is already a departure from how most of the world lives. Wouldn't be shocked if couples with space to spare have separate bedrooms. My parents did as it we had the space and it was cheaper than medical intervention for my dad's snoring, lol. Due to different careers their bedtimes also differ by like 4 hours.
