Hey, I'm trying to get back into learning French again. Say what you will about :france-cool: and its empire, but its working class kinda rules (please don't bully me in the afterlife, Mr. Sankara).
I have grown more and more angry at just how popular the right-wing is, and I am hoping that the right isn't the political default in Francophone countries and that chan/Amerikkkan "culture" hasn't poisoned the minds of people into being vulgar pigs. So if there's a corner of the internet/media sphere in another language that's more polite, I'd be happy to learn about it.
No, no, no, no, no. I'm trilingual, and speak English, French, and Spanish. (All three very poorly) Please, I'm begging you to just learn Spanish instead. It's not brain-poison-proof, but left wing sources are much more prevalent and overall better. French is a dead end into hellish chudland, and having conversations with francophones here in Canada and abroad, chudmerican culture is just as, if not more prevalent in french compared to english, at least in western heads.
I was gonna say this. Like Spanish, followed by Russian Slavic, would be good European languages to learn since they have vast numbers of speakers around the world and have strong socialist Currents in the countries that speak their languages
Mandarin, obviously, as well, but of course everyone here knows that.
Mandarin has sparked my interest for sure, but I had some high hopes for French just because the working class there seemed pretty cool.
Working class Francophones were largely cool up until like, the 70s.
I'm hoping to learn Russian Slavic after I get a good handle on Century Gothic.
Kinda what I was worried would be true, but at least as I'm learning Spanish, I might have decent chats with people from the global south, since I know very little about Latin America, I hope to learn a lot.
