Sounds like a story I would like. Post a link where I can buy it.
SAO and Goblin Slayer are my creep tests for talking to other people about anime lol. Mostly SAO because you can usually read Goblin Slayer fans well in advance.
I’m probably not the only person who is interested. I don’t know what the mods think, but in response to a direct question on where to find the story, I think it is perfectly reasonable to at least post the title of the story so people can find it.
Anyway, thanks for the DM. I’m gonna get it now, and I’ll resist the urge to dunk on the first review.
I could read you talk about your uncle or whatever for another several pages, it's quite entertaining
Hey, fellow self-publisher here -- the obscurity issue is something I came to terms with years ago as I write super niche historical fantasy on my primary pen name and am also a very very very slow writer. But seriously, don't stress Amazon algorithms. Just don't. That way lies hell. Also, publish everywhere if you haven't already. Don't go exclusive. Both for leftist reasons as well as practical business reasons. Kobo, Google Play, B&N are the big ones. Also Smashwords or Draft2Digital for less hassle and/or to get distribution to smaller vendors. I personally also experiment a lot with serial fiction paywalls like Radish.
I get it though, I have a pen name that is 100% secret and avoid letting family/RL acquaintances read even the "publicly" known name precisely because my writing is inherently political and I don't want to deal with any potential drama, period.
... That said, really wish there were some sort of explicitly leftist space or support group for writers.
Hey man, I know several people have already offered, but I'd love to read your book. I've done a few writer's workshops, which doesn't mean much but I've at least given notes before. Feel free to DM.
Besides that, I hope you're having a decent night. Family can be tough and this economic climate is more stressful than I've been admitting to myself. There are still moments you can enjoy if you're open to finding them.
Awesome, thanks for the link! I'm looking forward to it.
Yeah this community has been great so far. I like it better than the sub. It's easier to limit time on since it's not connected to reddit's bottomless pit of content. You can catch up on things pretty quick and get back to your real life.
Ditto if you need a reader. I'm an English teacher IRL, so I at least know how to read a book.
Thanks for posting comrade. We care about you, and I'm glad you shared :)
Two of my roommates are already packed if we get the bat signal. It's weird to wake up to an orange sky and not know if it's 8am or 4pm. Godspeed.
Can you send me the link to your book? I need a new fiction book to read.
I agree. It makes me think of a comrades dating site logo every time I see it though.
